A rite of passage is an official ceremony or informal activity which marks an important stage or occasion in a person's life. This is my rite of passage into the world of running.

Exercise for Health and Energy

I see this as an ATtainable and MAINtainable goal. I’m going to have to start slowly. My schedule should look something like this:

Walking 3 days a week
Walking 4 days a week
Walking 2 days & Running/Walking 2 days a week
Running/Walking 4 days a week
Running/Walking 2 days & Running 2 days a week
Running 4 days a week

I think I could reasonably say that in about 3 months I can be running 12 miles a week.

So far to go

Starting Weight: 165
Current Weight: 165
Goal Weight: 140

I’ve been in a holding pattern at 165 for a while now – which is good. That means that if I change nothing, I shouldn’t gain weight. It also means, if I stop eating fast food and drinking soda I’ll gradually lose weight. If I start drinking more water and working out I should should see a fairly rapid weight change.

I’ve done it before. I can do it again. Just takes self-control and discipline.
